What is MSM Super Anti-Inflammatory Gel?

This product contains the following active ingredients: Ibuprofen, Emu Oil, MSM (methsulfonylmethane), Guaifenesin and Capsaicin.

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID) indicated for mild to moderate muscle and joint pain. It is also indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Emu Oil has been studied for over a decade in Australia and reported to possess extremely high penetrating qualities and as such has tremendous medical and cosmetic possibilities as a base carrier and natural emollient. These studies have also yielded information which indicates that Emu Oil possesses numerous skin healing benefits and the ability to reduce inflammation in the joints.

MSM (Methsulfonylmethane) is a member of the sulfur family but should never be confused with sulfa drugs, to which some people are allergic. MSM is odorless and does not produce intestinal gas or body odor which may occur with other forms of sulfur. Sulfur is necessary for making collagen, the primary constituent of cartilage and connective tissue. Use of MSM has been shown to add flexibility to cell walls while allowing fluids to pass through the tissue more easily. Essentially, MSM provides the body with the necessary raw materials to create healthy new cells. MSM has been reported to be highly effective for improving joint flexibility, reduce joint stiffness, swelling and pain.

Guaifenesin is widely recognized as an expectorant (it will loosen and break up mucous or phlegm) found in common over the counter cough and cold remedies. However, various studies have reported that guaifenesin is an effective muscle relaxant.

Capsaicin is the chemical found in chili peppers that causes the well know burning sensation felt when one is eaten. Capsaicin interferes with the transmission of pain signals to the brain. It also works by depleting a chemical known as Substance P found in nerve endings. Substance P is thought to be associated with initiation and transmission of painful stimuli. By lowering the amount of substance P, it will reduce the amount of pain at the affected site.

How much MSM Super Anti-Inflammatory Gel should I use?

It is recommended to apply and rub in a small amount to the affected area two to three times daily. Wash hands thoroughly after each application.
